a very Good Friday

Happy Good Friday!
It's odd to type that, seems insensitive in a way.
There is huge celebration around Easter Sunday, but I always felt that the most emphasis of Holy Week should fall on Good Friday [even thought it's not even a Holy Day of  Obligation, I was shocked too.]
If you're not Catholic, Holy Week consists of Holy Thursday [The Last Supper], Good Friday [The Passion of our Lord], Easter Vigil Saturday, and Easter Sunday.
Today, Good Friday, is the day we received our salvation, through our Lord's crucifixion.
Easter is the wonderful joy of our Lord rising from the dead, destroying the temple and rebuilding it in three days; but today is the day it all really happened [to put in 23 year old layman's terms.]
The cup did not pass from our Lord.

This is going to sound dumb, but while running yesterday I focused a lot on the passion of Christ.
The pain I was feeling was nothing compared to what Christ went through.
Again, it seems just stupid comparing my minor pain to the Passion of our Lord but it helped.
So whatever you're going through at that moment, don't ever hesitate to meditate on that.

I was talking with Sara this morning about the incredible significance of today [something I am so lucky to have in my friendship with her.]
When I stop and really think about the significance of Good Friday I become overwhelmed.
There is a rush of feelings but the most prominent being one of blessed.
So I wish you a blessed Good Friday and joyous Easter with your family.
