Ed Sheeran finally quit teasing and announced the release date for his third album this week. Only 49 more days until Divide comes out on March 3rd. Let the countdown [and stalking of tour dates] begin!

While being home sick for two days this week I discovered two really great shows on Netflix that are 100% binge worthy: Medici, Masters of Florence and Versailles. Each are under 10 episodes and it's a good thing because you'll be hooked not even 5 minutes in.

Five on Friday

1.

I love some Jessie James Decker. I love her show, her music, and her Instagram.
She released her new song Lights Down Low last week and no surprise here, I love it. It is the perfect end of summer/early fall "love" song.

2.

The JCrew Fall Style guide arrived this week and I cannot get enough of it. Early Fall has to be one of my favorite times of the year. Humidity is oddly low this weekend and I plan on cleaning house with the door open.

3.

The Longest Ride has been on my Watch List since it hit theaters this spring and it's finally at Redbox! I foresee a Sunday afternoon movie in my future.

4.

While I love love love my Brittany Fuson prints, Sara introduced me to Lindsay Nichole Designs yesterday and I already have my favorites. She has an Etsy shop too with the most precious prayer cards for only $5!

Sara sent me this specific print and I already am obsessing over it for my new office.

5.

It's a Super Bowl XLV rematch this weekend with the Steelers facing the Packers in some pre-season football. I am already pumped with insults ready to go!

Weekend Recap: January 11-12

Last week I shared my personal new year's resolutions with y'all, but while planning out some upcoming posts this weekend I decided to come up with some blogging resolutions as well. One of my favorite bloggers and designers Ashley Brooke posts a Weekend Lookbook every Monday. I love these posts! It's always so much fun to see what people get into on the weekends. 

So Pekarsk-ing Around resolution #1: weekend recaps! 

Here's what I got into this weekend, complete with pictures and a fashionable appearance by Sophie:

Saturday morning I perked myself up with a quick visit to Sun Tan City and then off to the office for a good four hour work session with Maggie. We thought we were busy before Christmas, HA. We've got audits AND posts due this month. But if you've got to work on a Saturday might as well do it with Chipotle. 

Then it was off to Hendersonville for football, pizza, and beer! Sophie was stylin and profilin in my infinity scarf. This was the best picture I could get.

Sunday was full of errands, recipe planning, and lazy TV watching. I refused to watch football, but did rep my Steelers while grocery shopping!

Sunday night I wrapped myself up on the couch and watched ALL the Golden Globe coverage, I'm talking pre-red carpet to the last award. Topped the night off with a long talk with mom, full of laughter and life advice [be on the look out for a future post on what I talked her ear off about.]

Stuck in Colder Weather

Because 30 degree weather calls for really big coffee, preferably in a monogrammed Steelers Tervis.

Well the boys may have looked less than stellar, but Sophie and I were looking ab fab in our coordinating Steeler outfits. 

And there is nothing better than Monday morning coffee in my old school Three Rivers Stadium Pittsburgh mug.

As a single girl I can have a good laugh with Thought Catalog on this one. 

You wouldn't have to twist my arm too hard to get me to agree with 1, 4, and 5. 

Sorry, but couples dinners are best when y'all are the only couple in attendance.

Movin on up

Short and sweet: We did it. 

4 days. One bed (headboard, frame, mattress, box spring). One couch (and an impossible slip cover). One extremely long cable cord. Multiple episodes of RHOC (delivery men, always on time right?). 

I am officially moved in. So this week's 10 Things are, you guessed it, moving related!

Uh huh, you know what it is

   I have the blessing and burden of coming from a crafty mother. While Julie is the former title holder of Greatest Room Parent ever, I am not. However, I try. And while the Steelers were not in the playoffs this year I kept the #blackandyellow flame alive in my heart by crafting for them instead of cheering aka swearing The long weekend over MLK day was the perfect time and since today is Superbowl Sunday vom, need a beer I'd thought I'd be stubborn and show my Steeler love with the blogosphere.

 

First up was a silouhette glitter canvas you keep seeing all over Pinterest. I highly recommend using glitter acrylic craft paint vs. painting on glue and then sprinkling on real glitter over and over. The project was super simple. Found a "stencil" I like using Google images, saved it, printed it full page, then cut out the parts I need to to make my stencil, nail scissors work like a charm for this part having tiny fingers helped too. Then it was simply tracing out my design with pencil, painting on my glitter paint, and waiting. I did two coats to cover brush marks and WA-LA!

 

 

 

My second project of the day was a fleece Steeler blanket. I got 3 yards of the Steeler logo fleece fabric from Hobby Lobby for 30% off, best day ever. It was then simply cutting my two pieces, pinning the edges make sure you've got it inside out and then sewing it all together. Sophie now enjoys watching Friday Night Lights with me under it.

 

Little crafts like these are perfect ways to rep your team without stooping to the level of the Victoria's Secret PINK NFL collection. Along with companies like Vineyard Vines who have NFL lines, I do turn 23 in four months and they do have a Steeler tote.

So, enjoy the commericals. I've got Rotel and Sweet Water Blue calling my name, along with my Steeler fleece. #blackandyellow

 

You got the kiss that tastes like honey

  While my NFL alliances might lie with a team other than the Tennessee Titans that in no way means I'm not a Nashville girl who loves her country music, specifically the men of country music. Yes, Luke Bryan I would be glad to shake it for you his wife's name is Caroline so he's obs my favorite and yes, Jake Owen how did you know I love barefoot blue jean nights? But this list has everything but you, Kip Moore. If you aren't already in love with this gorgeous man get ready to swoon. I could live in one of his songs. I am ready to fall in love every time I finish a shuffle of his album YEAH, it's THAT good So, it took me a couple listens this morning to pick what song I wanted to use for Wordy Wednesday. Per usual, here's my pathetic life update/back story to my choice. A couple months ago I mentioned I had been loft/condo/apartment hunting with the intention to buy mortgage payments would be less than rent and then I'd have an investment but after weeks of looking and a long Saturday morning coffee sit with both mom and dad we decided renting would be the best choice for me, at this point in my life. And then dad said what I never really register like ever "You are REALLY young." And I am. And having the flexibility to get up and move is key at this point in my career/life you know for when I meet and fall in love with a Steeler But when you go straight from college to working and being the absolute baby of the agency/office you never really think of yourself as being only 22. So back to the real estate game but first I'll get a little reckless in honor of being 22, single, and a hot mess...
