Ah my favorite time of the year is upon us, red carpet season. When I get to sit in Victoria's Secret PINK sweatpants circa 2007 and judge people while smelling like tanning lotion.
The Golden Globes snuck up on me, I was more caught up in the playoffs and watching gifs of Bud Dupree almost killing the Dolphins quarterback. But I am so glad Twitter reminded me and here we are. So without further rambling, let the fun begin.
There seemed to be a lot of sparkle this year, some good...a lot bad.
But these two ladies did it well ["you're doing it wellll" J-Lo voice] in my opinion. I think the silver isn't as harsh as gold so it works.
Moving on to florals and prints. As you might have guessed, I am a lover of both but they can go south quickly. Here are two who I thought found a good balance and pulled it off. The cut out/wide straps on Olivia Culpo's gown broke up the bold pattern and made it easier on the eyes. And lez be honest Guliana always kills it.
These next few would fall into the metallics category I suppose.
All are bold in their own way but I am really loving the gold on Emily Ratajkowski. Just when I thought she couldn't get any sexier...
Finally, keeping it simple with some solids. You can never go wrong with a solid colored dress and minimal accessories. I love all three of these looks because they didn't overpower the dress with jewels. I thought Sienna Miller's dress was gorgeous but hated the double bracelets and necklace.
And finally the real life Disney princess category.
I could never pull off this dress and lip with Lily Collins' coloring but she does, every dang time.
Some of the flops of the night included: Kerry Washington, Carrie Underwood, Sophie Turner, Priyanka Chopra, Nicole Kidman, and Eli Manning.
Until next time.
