Ain't waiting on 21 candles

Favorite breakfast food- blueberry bagel with butter microwaved for 30 seconds.
Why? Because me eating a blueberry bagel has been a running joke in my family for exactly 21 years. After all, it was what I was eating when I found out I was going to be a big sister, five weeks early, on September 24, 1994.

My little brother Joe has been the complete and polar opposite of me from the very beginning:  blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, tall, good at math and science, can ride a bike without taking out part of the house. But as we've grown up our similarities have begun to shine. We both love eating an entire pizza by ourselves while watching Fantasy Factory before heading to Sonic and laughing our asses off at the answers on Family Feud. We both love screen shots. And lots of them. And sending them to each other. We both love Pittsburgh and the memories we have made there, both on trips with each other and separate. We both love sports. I may love football and he may love hockey but we both love sitting in the family room with a giant fire and swearing at the TV. And we both love our family.

My life changed when I became a big sister. I didn't know it at the time but I was given the greatest gift of all, a sibling who is also a built in best friend. No matter what Joe always knows the right thing to say, even if it's just calling some guy an idiot because I need to hear it. He is one of the funniest people I have ever known and so smart. It is surreal to me that he turns 21 today, he's not the little boy that used to let me steal his Max Steel dolls because they were cuter than Ken. There is some girl out there who is going to get to be his wife one day and while she will have to spell her name multiple times for people she will be one of the luckiest women in the world. I'm the other one because I get to be his big sister.

Happy birthday Jofus.
