Perfection of your face, slows me down
Keeping with the spirit of re-living the Maroon 5 concert through pictures, blog posts, and #latergrams this week's wordy Wednesday is all about the softer side of Maroon 5. It's amazing how the whole sound of a song can change simply by performing it acoustically She Will be Loved is hands down an incredible song but the acoustic performance of it this weekend gave the song whole new life. I found this song around the end of last week when I went on a Maroon 5 bender whatever gets you through to 5pm right? and have been listening to it on a loop since then. I will admit, I was not a huge fan of the original version but this one has a very sweet feel to it. Included the Spotify link below, hope you get hooked just as quickly as I did!

She's got tickets to her own show
This week's 10 Things is gonna be a little different than usual. Minimal words, LOTS of pictures. Because, this past Sunday was the Maroon 5 concert I had been counting down for since Ashley got our tickets wayyyy back in October! It was amazing would be an understatement. My voice is finally recovered. I now understand the obsession with Adam Levine. Double the opening act, double the sexy lead singers who can dance I'm looking at you Neon Trees Probably the coolest stage of any band that's on tour right now. AND to top it all off an American flag and glitter/confetti canons to send Nashville off the right way. Y'all are lucky my phone died or else I would have video of every song, complete with me singing along in the background, and tons more pictures to share. So here are 10 Things Maroon 5, complete with a Spotify playlist of all the songs from the concert, the link's at the bottom of the page!
10 Things... Maroon 5

Morning after, Panera sweet tea and an Easter cookie |
2 complaints: 1. there was no nudity, 2. "Tickets" was not performed (probably better, I would have lost it in the middle of our row)
Now, what Maroon 5 song to pick for tomorrow...

Clear eyes, full hearts..
One year.
One year ago I walked through the doors of BOHAN Advertising I Marketing for the first time. I am thankful everyday it was not my last. I could still tell you what I was wearing down to my skivvies, who I talked to and in what order, and what I got at Panera for lunch afterwards [even though I was still too nervous excited to even eat]. I could even show you the screen shot of the email my now media director sent me inviting me for an interview. It's that kind of excitement that's easy to lose a year later when you're swamped with projects, responsibilities, and the pressure to prove your rookie self every day. But every now and then you have to reignite that fire and remember why you love your job just as much if not more than the first day you came to interview. Today, I am feeling that fire in full blaze once again.
Live the life you love. Love the life you live.

March Madness, also known as Basketball PMS
IT'S HERE! March Madness, baby. Woke in an epicly foul mood, changed my bracket three times in under an hour, and the heartburn is working itself up. God, I love these next two weeks. I may have gone to Tennessee, but I was raised to yell profanity in the name of the Pitt Panthers. Dad went to Pitt for undergrad and grad and when your first stuffed animal was a Pitt Panther that sang the fight song when you squeezed it's stomach well, you're branded fo life. We're an 8 seed this year. Were hoping for a 6 seed. We've been a #1 seed, twice. BUT, silver lining, we did have a player make Cosmopolitan's March Madness Hotties list (embedded below, page 8). And to top it off I had another Twitter "celeb" encounter when both Cosmo and Tray Woodall tweeted me back after mentioning how with this combo my two worlds had finally collided. So here's to hot point guards, Pitt busting some brackets my own included and if all else fails a team from the original, now former, Big East winning it all!

Your hands were on my hips, your name is on my lips
Imma let y'all rave all you want about Cameron Diaz or Kate Upton, but Lana Del Ray had the sexiest video of all time. There is nothing this woman can't do that doesn't make you feel like you're in a slow motion Abercrombie ad when you listen to her. Everyone had their Team N'SYNC panties in a bunch yesterday since JT dropped his first album in seven years. Yes, I too listened to the 20/20 Experience a mere three times through, but the real gem yesterday was Lana's latest single Burning Desire. It's the perfect humid summer sultry song. Get it while its' hot y'all so punny.

Let the blue skies go to your head
It's like every K-5 hallway art display says, March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. And thank the good lord this month is on the way out. That means Maroon 5 concert next weekend, Easter and GAME OF THRONES the weekend after that, Lent is over SONIC ZAXBYS FIREHOUSE TACO BELL CHIPOTLE, and 65 degrees and up baby. The drive home Friday was glorious not only because it was Friday but because I did it with Ray Bans on and windows down. So this week's 10 Things are all about cruising with your windows on automatic roll down. And lucky you, I even put together a Spotify playlist with all these melodies on it, linked at the bottom of the page. Now turn it up!

must've been your funny face
So like I shared yesterday, the little brother is home for his freshmen year of college spring break. Thrilling for him, I am sure. But Sunday night we went on one of our after dinner need real desserts Publix runs. We took Joe's car so he controlled the music. I usually would have trolled Instagram or Twitter during the 10 minute drive down Gallatin Road, but he surprised me when he put on some Red Hot Chili Peppers, specifically the live version of Scar Tissue one of my ALL time favs, like Top 10 ..Which then led me to look up their artist page on Spotify and find this gem. Such a good mellow relaxing spring/summer jam. And lord knows I'm ready for some spring and summer in my life. Hope one day some boy thinks my love is this magical since I love rocking the stolen sweatpants and slept on hair look most days.
"must've been your tiny dance, that made me laugh out loud.
must've been your angel dust that put me on your cloud"

SPPPPPRING BRRRRREAK y'all. Freakin spring break. Little brother's home on spring break. Tennessee goes on spring break next week. And there is no such thing as a post-grad spring break. Well a legit spring break anyway. So that's why this week's 10 Things is all about turning a weekend or extended long weekend via vacation days into the closest thing us real life kids will get to PCB and Bubba mugs..
10 Things... you can do to have a post-grad "spring break"

We bite our tongues and our finger nails
Yes I read Nicholas Sparks. Yes I usually fall in love with his story, scenery, absolutely unrealistic view of love and finish the book in a weekend. I know 20 somethings around the world love, like obsessed love, The Notebook. I personally think the book was better. However, I will give my endorsement for the newest money maker for Spark's production house, Safe Haven. And the soundtrack is even better. Yes, I'm on a soundtrack kick. I need a full playlist that can get me through IOs, rate requests, and spread sheets. The whole album is amazing but this is definitely my favorite, coincidentally it lyrically narrates one of my favorite scenes of the movie too. Brandi Carlile is also all over the Heart of Dixie playlists, so extra props to her. Enjoy!
Maybe you thought I hung moon. Maybe you thought we were Johnny and June.

I want you to want me
When I was growing up mom and dad used to make deals with us, i.e. if you get all As and Bs you get $20 or if you help in the yard you can go to whatever party. And every stinkin' time it worked. So I've started doing it with myself in post grad life. Setting goals/a timeline to get what I want, putting a post it note with the date I can finally get whatever it may be all over my office, planner, calendar. So far, so good. But with spring comes flowers blooming, people you have never seen in running attire magically working on their fitness I'm unfortunately their witness, and spring collections! So this week's 10 Things will hopefully put some ideas in your head and some post it notes all over your office. 2 more week to go for me and then stalking my package hourly....
10 Things... I'm lusting after
1. Kate Spade for Keds best pairing since ben and jerry's
2. Swell Caroline's new arrivals amaze jewelery, amaze name
3. Lilly Pulitzer's new prints, especially "Pop" perfection, per usual
4. Marley Lilly's monogrammed bandeau bikini tops I would make myself lay out if I had one of these
