Weekend Recap: 8/12-8/14

Home was very very good to me this weekend.
I headed West Thursday afternoon and arrived just in time for Mexican and a cold beer with mom and dad, the original Pekarsky trio [oh and Sophie.] Friday was a day for being a homebody, lunch time pool party with mom, Olympics in the afternoon, and Steeler football and the greatest burgers ever for dinner. Saturday was finally Warren's birthday party! I feel like we'd been counting down forever.
Sara nailed it with the Curious George theme and I could not get enough of little man and all his fun new noises and words.

Sunday came way too fast with a 6am drive time back to Knoxville for My Kind of Lovely's Greek event in Sorority Village. The temperatures were hot hot hot but the koozies and swag was cute cute cute.

This week is coming in hot with three days of travel for client meetings/presentations/shoots, Thursday's tailgate grand opening party for MKL Knoxville, August's 5K Saturday, but most importantly heading to the mountains for another wonderful weekend with mom and dad [oh and Sophie.]

Waiting

I am awful at being patient.
I want to be in control and know what's coming, after all my job title is "Media Buyer/Planner."
Yesterday started the second week of She Reads Truth's Ruth study and today's devotional jumped off the page at me.

"Waiting as Obedience"

Boom. There it is, that word, "waiting."
Looking back on my short life and career waiting has always paid off for me but it's really hard to look towards the future and have that hope when you're in the moment/present.
I had to wait three years into my career to find the job/agency that was the right fit for me.
I waited almost a year to find my own place in Nashville.
And am still waiting to find that person. But after reading today's scripture and the devotional I felt content in my waiting place.

"In your waiting place, cling to the hope that God will not leave our stories unfinished or unredeemed. They may not look how we expected but, as with Ruth and Naomi, our story is His story. We can wait with hope, and we can trust and obey with confidence. Thanks be to God."

After all, who knows what will come your way while you're waiting.

Five on Friday

1.
The 2016 Summer Olympics are officially here!
Catch the opening ceremonies tonight and head on over to Evelyn Henson to get your tech on Team USA too!

2.
Bachelor in Paradise is back, your Monday and Tuesday nights just got a lot more dramatic.
If this season is going to be anything like the first episode hold on to your bikini top.

3.
The Chainsmokers released the lyric video for their new single Closer and it is gorgeous.
Not only is the couple stunning but that ocean view is to die for.

4.
I cannot believe that on Monday my best friend's Sara's sweet little man will be ONE!
I still remember being so excited/nervous to meet him.

5.
This time next week, I'll be home!!

Stop, Drop, and Bowl

Last night I got to hang out with the awesome My Kind of Lovely girls for bowling, ice cream, and lots of pictures. Did I break 100? Heck no. However, I also didn't go down the lane with the ball so a win there. I barely cleared 65 but it was such a great night meeting all the MKL girls and being deemed an official member of the team.
I missed the Bachelorette finale live but we all knew who she was going to pick anyway and you can't re-watch making new friends on Hulu the next day.
The next few weeks will be crazy gearing up for Bid Day and the push to come after that but it will all be worth it thanks to this awesome girl gang.
