Five on Friday

1.
The Maine finally released Covers Side B this morning and thanks to the insane thunder this morning I got a first listen at 3am. This time around we've got Drake, Rihanna, and wait for it... Shania Twain.

2.
As of yesterday, my first 10 mile week of the summer- DONE!

3.
ICYMI: yesterday was #NationalPinkDay so it was the perfect afternoon to try the infamous "secret menu" #pinkdrink at Starbucks. And I must say, it is worth the hype.

Strawberry Acai Refresher, Coconut milk, and strawberries >

4.
The Shallows comes out today! While I cannot wait to see Blake Lively be a total boss in her itty bitty bikini, think I might have to wait to watch after our beach trip next week.

5.
ONE WEEK until VACA!!!!!!!

Instagram Round-Up

Little peak into life lately on Rocky Top, follow along on Instagram for all the fun.

One of the coolest moments of my career, seeing the ad I placed for Gatlinburg in Southern Living in person

Stocking up on Jam Jar when home, my favorite wine

Sums up Joe and I perfectly in one picture, being home for Father's Day weekend was the greatest

Heading back to Rocky Top with these beauties from mom's amazing garden

Tuesday night Publix run for the necessities, frozen veggies and AB on the cover of ESPN

Oh isn't that just the way it goes

Howard drives a minivan with the cruise ships from Ft. Lauderdale
And it's been that way since 1994
Does his business on a flip phone with the most obnoxious ringtone
I didn't ask but I can tell he's from New York
And he spoke proudly of his daughter
And that this fall she'd be in college
And that he always wished he'd gotten his degree
You can tell he came from nothing, built a future out of hustling
And somehow I'm the one you people pay to see

Oh isn't that just the way it goes
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
Oh how am I the only one who knows
I'm half the man of the men who drive me places

Danny showed up early fifteen minutes till five thirty
Making sure that I'd be on my morning flight
He said he'd love to fix computers, but that he can't until he's fluent
So he spends his driving money taking class at night
He wore a neatly ironed dress shirt and he helps his kids with homework
And deep inside I couldn't help but ask myself
Why that at night I'm up on stage, everybody knows my name
While Danny's early picking up somebody else

Oh isn't that just the way it goes
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
Oh how am I the only one who knows
I'm half the man of the men that drive me places

And now everything's not given, I work hard to make my living
But I'll give credit where I think credits due
Maybe you got dealt a good hand
Maybe you play it the best that you can
But I don't know how far you'd walk without those cards
In Howard and Danny's working shoes

But that's just the way it goes
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
Oh how am I the only one who knows
I'm half the man of the men that drive me places

Lately: June

Listening: Spotify has been teasing new Tom Odell on New Music Friday for months now, and finally last Friday Wrong Crowd was released in its beautiful entirety. Oh my gosh, it was worth the wait.
So. So. So. Good.

[extra points to Tom for slipping Caroline into the lyrics of Constellations.]

Reading: I had heard from multiple people that if you were a Gone Girl fan you'd love Girl on the Train. And after seeing the trailer for the movie I knew it had to be my next summer read. American Babe and of course First Comes Love will be making the trip with me to the beach next month. I forsee lots of pool days and sunscreen stained pages in my future.

Eating: Memorial Day weekend was full of cook-outs and get togethers which is always great for finding new yummy things. Publix has an amazing feta cucumber dip made by GOODFOODS that is is the perfect summer afternoon snack paired with carrots and celery.

Loving: Lilly Pulitzer had their Resort 2017 presentation preview this week and every piece is to die for. "Life Under Printed Palms" might be my new obsession.

Watching: Billions on Showtime, after successfully binge watching Bloodline [Season 1 and 2] in a week and a half I needed a new show to keep me company in the air conditioning Sunday afternoon.
Billions has all the drama of Bloodline, bad-assery of Entourage, and bad behavior of Wolf of Wall Street.

Celebrating: Birthdays, Tombras, and the PENGUINS WINNING THE STANLEY CUP!
Molly, my "ride [run] or die" turned 25 last Friday. We were big/little in college and I am so glad we have stayed as close as we have in post grad life and get to celebrate our birthdays back to back! And last Thursday I got to celebrate the amazing agency I work for with my equally amazing co-workers.
Ain't no party like a Tombras party!

Counting Down To: My first adult vacation over 4th of July, The Emily Giffin book tour event with Sara on July 11th, Warren's first birthday on August 8th, but first a long weekend in Nashville for Father's Day this weekend!

5K #7 of 2016 is up next this weekend. 11:59pm start time, this should be interesting!

Five on [last] Friday [of 25]

1.
Maren Morris released her debut album HERO today and it.is.so.dang.good.
Her EP was amazing but her full album is incredible. She performed Rich on The Bobby Bones Show this morning and killed it. This will, no doubt, be my soundtrack to summer.

2.
Last night I finally met my goal of finishing a book before the movie comes out!
I laughed and cried during the last seven chapters of Me Before You and all I can say is I hope Me After You is one of my birthday presents this year. The book was so so good and I can't wait to hear what Sara and Jordyn think of the movie tonight. A Sunday matinee might be in my future...

3.
I was lamenting to mom this week that summer prime programming is just pathetic. There are really no good new shows coming out and Starz just pushed the premiere of Homeland to January of next year. So, I went to friends for recommendations and started watching Bloodline last night.

I AM HOOKED.
So freaking good.

Season 1 and 2 are both on Netflix. Enjoy.

4.
Lilly Pulitzer and Erin Condren both released their 2017 planners this week.
I am really loving the Lilly prints for the first time in a while. But the Erin Condren truly is a life planner. #whitegirlproblems

5.
I get a early birthday treat this weekend, mom and dad and Sophie are stopping in Knoxville for lunch and a visit. I cannot wait. And then "Sunday Funday" to celebrate 26 [if the rain holds off, fingers crossed.]
