Pekarsk-ing [Fashion] Police

I may have not watched the actual awards show [it's on my DVR, okay?] but you know I watched the Red Carpet special on E! [maybe, twice. Yes, I DVR'd that too.] Here are my favorite looks from the night with Sarah Hyland taking my Queen Bee title. Her look was everything!

You Stand

Today marks my one year I Can Do This anniversary.
One year ago I walked away from my first agency, my "dream" job.
And here I am one year later, stronger than I could have ever imagined.

I landed [with the grace of God] on my feet at my right job.
I know whole heartily this is where I was meant to end up.
I've been told I'm visibly happier on the outside and after a long struggle I am much happier on the inside.
All the friendships I made in my first year and a half in the business I still have.
And now I have five amazing more.
I woke up on the morning of August 26, 2013 thinking it was going to be a great day because the date had my lucky numbers in it and I was wearing my favorite Jcrew dress. Little did I know it in fact was going to be a great day.

Never doubt God and the plan He has for you.
It's perfectly okay to question the path He's leading you down but never doubt it.
It's taking you where you need to be.

Five on Fridayyy

1. Lilly Pulitzer's grandson got married this past month and of course it was pure perfection.
He's the VP of a wealth management firm. She owns a Palm Beach bakery.
And they lived happily ever after.

2. It's Flea Market weekend!! Julie and I will be on the hunt for things we don't need but could always use!

3. I started a new book this week and can not put it down, The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks.
The movie adaptation comes out in October and I can not wait to go see it with Sara!

4. One of my favorite Bravo shows Below Deck is back and my DVR could not be happier!

5. We are nine hours from the weekend y'all!

So bring it on, bring on the weekend.

Sweating till September

Nashville is on fire this week, literally. 90 degrees and 87% humidity is a killer.
I ran a quick and usually easy three miles last night and looked like I had instead gone for a three mile swim by the end of it. My leggings and puffy vest are just teasing me hanging in the back of my closet; and Jcrew Factory isn't helping at all by releasing their fall new arrivals.
I'm day dreaming of crunchy leaves, warm Pumpkin spice lattes, and an actual breeze. Don't get me wrong, I do love summer an awful lot but I love layers and a good infinity scarf too.

Falling into Fall [with JCrew Factory]

The heart and dog sweaters are just too much for words. And the coveted Jcrew Quilted Puffer vest, be still my heart. Again, everything is from Jcrew Factory so budget friendly!
So get to outfit planning, it'll be -14 before you know it!
Gotta love the South.

"Bye, love you, make good decisions"

The little brother [who is taller than me and mistaken for my boyfriend more than my brother] heads off to college this morning. Yes, he is almost 20 and a junior in college but having him home the past year has been a blessing for us. We've grown to be more friends than siblings and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him. While I will not miss listening to his weirdo music on the drives to Publix to get stuff for Sunday dinner, I will miss his hilarious one-liners. I'll miss sushi buffet lunches. I'll miss him referring to ice cream as my boyfriend. I'll miss cracking ourselves up when mom says something #lifewithJulie worthy. And I'll miss our good-bye hugs more than anything. So GO TOPS and Go Joe!

#LOTG, Nashville's hottest club

Last night we put our best "outdoor concert" outfits on and ventured to Live on the Green for the first week of the summer concert series that takes Nashville by storm every August.
We waited 20 minutes in line for a beer, ate Edley's BBQ on the sidewalk, never got anywhere close to "the Green" and loved every minute of it.

Here's the full festival line-up,

Embedded image permalink

I personally can not wait for Capitol Cities on 8/28 and Augustana on 9/5.
Now, to piece together two more "music festival" outfits...

Happy Friday y'all!

Will you..

I will admit, I am not immune to the countless engagement/proposal pictures flooding my Tumblr and Pinterest feed on a daily basis. And I may or may not have a secret or not secret Pinterest board with wedding or not wedding things. Hey, a girl's got to give in every now and then right?
I found this gem last night while scrolling myself to sleep and had to share!

Boy person, wherever/ whoever you are, I hope you somehow find this. I'm a size 6.5 [and that's shoe size, Free Runs 2.0.]

So my friend just got proposed to

Have Fun Ok?

The past couple weeks I've been making a conscious effort to spotlight some brands I love. I told y'all all about my obsession with Danielle and Shop Dandy, showed my #VFL spirit with some Volunteer Traditions, and now bringing a pop of color with Ban.do.

Band.do Fun

Band.do Fun by crpekarsk

Ban.do is a sister company of Lifeguard Press and splashed onto the scene in 2013 and is "SUPER INSPIRED BY ALL THINGS FUN: DISCO BALLS, CONFETTI CANNONS AND FIZZY COCKTAILS, JUST TO NAME A FEW" They released their fall new arrivals yesterday and let me just say, I want them all.
I think the "I Am Very Busy" print would be the perfect staple piece in any post grad office. And they don't stop at "Shop", click on over to their "Just for Fun" page and get iphone and desktops free downloads. I am loving the Frills and Gems prints!

So hop on over and see for yourself!
Oh! And while you're there be sure to sign up for their mailing list and get 15% off your first order!
Now, I've got to go. After all, I Am Very Busy.

But my heart is honest

[I have loved Passenger ever since I saw him jam out with my love Ed Sheeran in their viral No Diggity cover. This song has become one of my anthems the past couple weeks and what better way to start Tuesday off than sharing it with you. Enjoy.]

Wont get to space cos I haven’t got a rocket
But I’ve air in my lungs
Eyes in my sockets
And a heart that beats
Like a tap that leaks

Well if you can’t get what you love
You learn to love the things you’ve got
If you can’t be what you want
You learn to be the things you’re not
If you can’t get what you need
You learn to need the things that stop you dreaming
All the things that stop you dreaming

And my word is true
Like the sky is blue
In the summer time when everybody gets on it
Warm our skins and get sunburnt from it
And our eyes shine bright like a sky full of comets that shoot like silver trains
Yeah our eyes shine bright like a sky full of comets that shoot like silver trains

The Five on Friday

T.G.I.F.
and thank God for Five on Friday!
These are quickly becoming some of my favorite posts to do [when I have the time or more often remember.] This one's got a little bit of everything: jewelry, TV, food. What else does a girl need?

1. Real Housewives of Melbourne

Bravo's started running their international series of the Housewives franchise on Sunday afternoons and I for one am already hooked. It's the same drama level as the OC but with accents, even better!

2. Michelina's frozen dinners are a life-saver and you really can't go wrong with any of their dinners but let just tell you the chicken fried rice is divine! I might have bought 4 last weekend... [and I may only have one left.]

3. Alex and Ani

Alex and Ani

Alex and Ani by crpekarsk

I got my first bangle from Alex and Ani from my good friend Ashley for Christmas last year and now I'm hooked. I have a list of bracelets I'd love to add to my arm party! Aren't these gorgeous?

4. Getting my behind out on the pavement and up and down Capitol Hill four times a week has proved easier than I thought. I've got the fire again [and an awesome support team: mom, Sara, the hot guy who runs like a gazelle]
Well, and good music helps too.
This song will be my background music when I get my Nike Running commercial, it's just a matter of time.

5. Another food item [can you tell I'm running again and am hungry all the time?]
Pretzel Crisps, honey mustard and onion flavor, go get them now!

Now, hellllo weekend!

"Homeboy, wore combat boots to the beach"

I am a retro MTV addict, Laguna Beach and The Hills are my jam.
Yes, I have looked the complete sets up on eBay.
I absolutely love Thought Catalog and have shared a couple of their articles before, but I think this will be your favorite. Why? Two letters, LC.

The 19 Realest Things Lauren Conrad Said On “The Hills” That Are Still Relevant Today

The list in its entirety is absolutely great.
Makes me want to watch the whole series again, weekend binge?
Here are my top 5:

You’ve got to believe that there are people who really want the best for you.
I used to care a lot about what people thought about me, then I learned I definitely can’t please everyone. Some people will like you, some people will hate you, but I really don’t care either way. I’m not losing sleep over it.
You can never make the same mistake twice. The second time you make it, it’s no longer a mistake; it’s a choice.
When you are looking to meet someone, you are looking to settle. Because you are not looking for someone, you are looking for anyone.
and the realest of them all,
The only time I miss having a boyfriend is when I have to put something together, when I have to pick something like a TV out or do car stuff, or when I have a lot of groceries. I can’t lift them all.

I may be #TeamKristen since 2005 but the girl has some good points.

Blooms without Boys

Lately I have been loving all these gorgeous desks I see on Tumblr [mom is obsessing over kitchens, I'm obsessing over desks.] I've been trying to pick out little things I can do to my desk to make it Tumblr envy worthy. I also absolutely love fresh flowers, I 100% completely get this from mom. The woman could spend her entire grocery budget on flowers. She is the reason I have fake flowers all over my house, it just makes my little space so much happier.
Enter a young, broke, and fabulous girl's savior: Publix 3 for $12 flowers.
Yep, you [hopefully] did that math right. $4 for a bouquet of flowers.
Roses, Lilies, Pom daisies, carnations, you name it.

I scooped up these precious roses for the corner of my desk and these simple pom daises for the girls upstairs! While this may not be an every week treat, $4 won't break the bank and they'd be a great hostess gift as well as a desk brighter.

I mean who really needs a boy for flowers anyway?

That VOLunteer spirit

It's no secret I love me some football, the power-T sticker on the back of my bug, oversized t-shirts, and fall. I'd been lacking in the blog-spiration category lately [I know y'all are sick of running pictures] and then I checked Instagram.
Volunteer Traditions launched the first part of their fall collection this weekend and I could not be more excited! Living in Vandy [ew] country I am always trying to share [wear] my VOL pride.
Volunteer Traditions was found in 2006 and has since exploded. They now have twelve individual state collections along with Vols Licensed, Heritage line, and everyone's favorite Fox logo.
I literally could have put every shirt on the site on here but here are a couple of my favorites:

All items are linked through my Polyvore for easy ordering! I absolutely love this brand and hope you will too!

Desk Diaries

I had blogged a while back about all the gorgeous desks popping up on my Tumblr and Bloglovin feeds.
The glamorous Alyson Haley blogged her charming work space yesterday and inspired me [along with the way the afternoon sun hits my desk] to snap some shots and share my little desk by the stairs.

Mix and match file folders from Target's Dollar Section are the perfect way to add color to any desk.
And coffee mugs aren't just for K-Cups anymore. Add in some sweet cards from sweet friends, Brittany Fuson prints from her 2014 planner, and some "get you through the tough days" quotes and you're got a perfect little 9a-5p corner.
